Helping Don Bosco Create
Citizens For The Future
DBYaR (Don Bosco Youth at Risk) is a non-profit international organisation founded over 200 years ago in Turin, Italy, with 100 centres across India.
Their work includes managing shelter homes for children who have been made homeless, are HIV-infected, or have been rescued from child trafficking and child labour. The Don Bosco volunteers provide emotional and physical support, helping the children to break the cycle of poverty by gaining an education and assisting them infinding a job, allowing them to become independent and less vulnerable.
Over the years, DBYaR has collaborated with numerous NGOs to share information and assist in life-changing work. The volume of data and its subsequent management had become an overwhelming task. In addition, multiple technologies had been used, which in turn had become obsolete.
As part of its CSR initiative and our promise to society, Elait has helped DBYaR recover its data from legacy systems and provide a new cloud-based online data gathering and reporting system. The Elait team enthusiastically support this project due to the tremendous impact it has on saving the lives of countless children in India. Our aim is that via the data that is safely stored, Elait will continue to help DBYaR to manage their data efficiently to identify the underlying social issues that are causing the children to become destitute in the first place. If these issues can be rooted out at their source, it can result in a safer and happier future for the children.
Helping MDA Create A "Dyslexia Sensitive" Society
MDA strives to create a “Dyslexia Sensitive” society that identifies and nurtures children with dyslexia to help them reach their potential. Elait helped to develop a software platform called Avance 360, which was conceived, designed, developed, and implemented to support the child-centric process followed at MDA. The workflow starts with gathering information about the child during their admission and continues until the child leaves the Ananya Learning and Research Centre (ALRC).
We are immensely proud of the support we have been able to provide MDA. The application helps capture every detail, thus creating a valuable, secure database that can be used to build a profile for each child. Data analytics help the teachers and peripheral therapists to design remediation holistically. This analysis also forms the bedrock for deeper insights into specific learning disabilities and the associated coping strategies. This powerful information helps to build programs that will provide the right guidance and support the child needs to work with their dyslexia, with the ultimate aim of building their confidence.
